4th 30K LSD Run to UP Diliman on March 18, 2012

My first time LSD mates, cheers!

Today, March 18, 2012, I had my 4th LSD run to UP Diliman. This time I was joined by Michael Banawa, a fellow Pinoy Fitness peep. We started at Mezza Residences in Sta. Mesa and we dropped by at Puregold Quezon Avenue to fetch Harold Iniego and Michael Ares, who also joined our run to UP.

Our LSD route was typically the same with my previous LSD run to UP Diliman, the only difference is the starting point at Mezza Residences. Back and forth of the route has a total distance of 21.1 Kms, we did additional four (4) loops at the UP Oval which equals to 8.8 kms. Thus, making a total of 29.9kms or a 30K LSD distance. Please click HERE to view our route via dailymile.com.

Our LSD timing was kinda slow with several pit stops, gunstart was at 4:50AM and we arrived at UP Diliman  Oval at around 6:10AM. We also met several OK OK runners at the oval, they were doing the Dagulympics in celebration of Ian Yu Dagulrunner! Happy Birthday bro!

After doing 5 loops at the Oval, we did some photo ops then were on our way back to Sta. Mesa.As usual, we dropped by at one of my favorite pit stop in Mercury Philcoa, where we bought electrolyte drinks and bananas!! :-) 

Our group separated ways at Puregold Quezon Ave, from there Michael and I just walked up to Sta Mesa as he was experiencing mild leg cramps. In my clock, our LSD time was 4:26H, not bad for a 30K LSD :-)

St. Lukes Eye Run + 10K LSD from Ayala to Sta. Mesa on March 11, 2012

I did not have any plans to run in any upcoming commercial events this month after the Run United 1 last March 04, 2012 but late part of this week when I received a text message from Ms.Mars asking me if I will available this Sunday, having replied in affirmative, she informed me that Pinoy Fitness is giving me a free race kit for the St. Lukes Eye Run in appreciation to my perfect attendance during the past two PF monthly LSD run as pacer :-).

The St. Lukes Eye Run happened today, March 11, 2012 at the Bonifacio Global City. I ran the 6K event, my first commercial 6K and my first free kit this year! Thanks to Ms. Mars and Pinoy Fitness!

The 6K route passed by the usual running event routes at the BGC. I just maintained by usual pace at an average of 6mins/km and my unofficial finish time was 34 minutes!

Just after crossing the finish line, I immediately proceeded to Market Market Bus Terminal because my run was just starting :-) I got additional LSD from Ayala to Sta. Mesa which covers around 10 kms.

My LSD route was from Ayala corner EDSA then right turn to Makati Avenue at Manila Peninsula Hotel and straight ahead to Makati Mandaluyong Bridge. I passed by Mandaluyong City Hall, Maysilo Circle and straight to Shaw Blvd. To view my route via dailymile.com, please click HERE.

I clocked in 1:15H to finish my 10K LSD back home in Sta. Mesa. Nice to run for the first time from Makati, passing through Mandaluyong then Manila and finally to Quezon City :-)

Run United 2012 Leg 1 - Race Day Review & Pics

This morning, the Run United leg 1 for 2012 Trilogy happened at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City. But for the 21K runners, the starting point was at the Riovana store in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

For this run, I was set to pace Doc Gracielle and help her out to achieve a new 21K PR. Also, Rain will be joining our group.

At BGC, we were joined by Doc Gracielle's friend, Ton Ramos in our warm-up routine up to the gunstart. But as we proceed to Kalayaan Flyover, he was isolated in our group.

All through out the race, I paced Doc Gracielle while Rain became on and off in our group as she suffered some calf muscle discomfort. Initially we aimed for sub 2hours run but in the end we settle for a 2:10-2:11 unofficial finish time. Still a new PR for Doc Gracielle. Congrats Doc!!!

The race was very good in terms of hydration, electrolytes drink (Powerade) was overflowing, I counted more Powerade stations than water stations at the 21K route. Plus the bananas were first offered at the 7km mark and more bananas at the Rizal Park hydration stations. A great improvement for the organizers. Runrio really redeemed itself from the doomsday RU3 2011 performance.

But still there were some glitch of the race performance as finishers kit for 21K runners were reported to have been stolen resulting to some or many of the runners not being able to get their loots. 

At least, for us we were able to get our own loots and medals! A new and different 21K medal this time, as it will be a part of the medal puzzle if you complete this year's Trilogy.

2nd Pinoy Fitness Monthly LSD Run on February 26, 2012

The 2nd Pinoy Fitness Monthly LSD Run was held last February 26, 2012 at Bonifacio Global City. Same route  as the 1st PF LSD which featured Ms Mars Birthday Run.

This time the LSD was attended by smaller number of peeps but I got two new runners with me, Doc Gracielle and Rain! And as usual I served as back-up pacer for the 20K distance, 8mins per km.

We finished our LSD with approximate time of 2:30 - 2:35 hours, slightly above of the scheduled finish time of 2:40H but three runners from our group DNF (did not finish) due to injury and fatigue.

After the LSD, we had a short get together and photo ops as a usual scene during Pinoy Fitness gathering then we headed home.

Run United 2012 Leg 1 - My Race Kit

Before race kit gets to be sold out for the Run United leg1 2012 or most call RU1 few weeks ago, I hurried to register myself for a 21K slot at TAF (The Athlete's Foot) Galleria. And luckily, I was able to catch up one of the last 6 slots. :-)

The RU1 21K race route this time was kind of new route as it will be starting at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig and have its finish line at the Mall of Asia in Pasay. But to those who already joined the previous RU3 32K category, the route was almost similar, the only difference is the stretch from Buendia to Kalayaan Flyover to Riovana Store in Bonifacio High Street.

This run will be my second commercial run (with reg fee of Php 900.00) this year 2012, and I will be running this time with Doc Gracielle and Rain, hopefully will earn Doc Gracielle her new 21K PR :-)
