Run United Leg 2 2012 Race Day

This morning, June 17, 2012, the leg 2 of this year's Run United Runrio Trilogy happened at the Mall of Asia grounds. For us, who participated in the 21K event, our starting line was at the Bonifacio Global City, the same route as the Leg 1.

The weather was kinda breezy and rainy as the whole archipelago experienced the past days due to Tyhoon Butchoy. And as usual, I expected wet socks and shoes for this run, but it's not my first time to run under the rain. During last year's Milo Manila leg, the rain was harder as well during my first 42K at the Quezon City International Marathon last December.

For the second time around, I ran with Doc Gracielle and Rain. Aiming for a new PR despite the weather :-)

Now the second part of the medal puzzle is at hand. In few months time, the leg 3 medal will complete the above puzzle!

Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 - My Race Kit

Last Sunday, I claimed my race kit for the upcoming Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 also known as the Run for the Mangroves at the Riovanna store in Bonifacio Global City just after the first Pinoy Fitness group Run which featured Ms. Mars Birthday LSD Run. I participated as back-up pacer in that lovely and memorable event.

Last year, Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 was my first 21K (Half Marathon) run. I was so eager to register that time but this year I got some hesitations such as the far venue which is in Filinvest Alabang, the increasing registration fees among others. But I finally decided to run again in the Skyway for the following reasons;

1. Running in the Skyway only happens once a year and it might be my last time running in that route.
2. It is still for a CAUSE (planting mangroves in Zamboanga-soon to be my hometown).
3. It will be my first time running from Filinvest Alabang to Makati, which will pass by several cities such as Taguig, Pasay, Makati among others.
4. It is the first midnight run in the country and also it will be my first midnight run!
5. For the love of running and of course for the BIG 42K medal to add up in my collection :-)

It will be my second Full Marathon in just two months, my first FM was on December 4, 2011 at the Quezon City International Marathon and I hope though I have little mileage of around 85 kilometers for the month of January I can still finish strong during my next FM.

Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 - Race Maps and Medals

Yesterday, I registered online for my second Full Marathon (42K) at the Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 which will be happening on February 5, 2012  at Filinvest Alabang to Skyway.

It will also my second time running in the Skyway, my first was last year when I ran my first Half Marathon at the Condura Skyway Marathon 2011.

Rescue Run Race Day Pics

My last run for this year 2011 took place this morning at the RESCUE RUN which was organized by Greentennial Events in just 9 days for the benefit of the victims of Typhoon Sendong. The event was held in McKinley Hills, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City with the lone category of 5K run.

I think the event was a huge success with the runners turn-out despite the short time preparation. It was indeed a collective effort of the running community here in Metro Manila, the different running teams and groups are also present and a lot of volunteers!
