Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 - My Race Kit

Last Sunday, I claimed my race kit for the upcoming Condura Skyway Marathon 2012 also known as the Run for the Mangroves at the Riovanna store in Bonifacio Global City just after the first Pinoy Fitness group Run which featured Ms. Mars Birthday LSD Run. I participated as back-up pacer in that lovely and memorable event.
Just claimed!
Last year, Condura Skyway Marathon 2011 was my first 21K (Half Marathon) run. I was so eager to register that time but this year I got some hesitations such as the far venue which is in Filinvest Alabang, the increasing registration fees among others. But I finally decided to run again in the Skyway for the following reasons;

1. Running in the Skyway only happens once a year and it might be my last time running in that route.
2. It is still for a CAUSE (planting mangroves in Zamboanga-soon to be my hometown).
3. It will be my first time running from Filinvest Alabang to Makati, which will pass by several cities such as Taguig, Pasay, Makati among others.
4. It is the first midnight run in the country and also it will be my first midnight run!
5. For the love of running and of course for the BIG 42K medal to add up in my collection :-)

My Dri-fit Tech Shirt, Bib Number and D-Tag
It will be my second Full Marathon in just two months, my first FM was on December 4, 2011 at the Quezon City International Marathon and I hope though I have little mileage of around 85 kilometers for the month of January I can still finish strong during my next FM.

See you on the road guys!

First PF Group Run featuring Ms Mars Bday LSD Run Pics

This morning, January 29, 2012, the first ever PinoyFitness.com group run was conducted at Bonifacio Global City featuring Ms Mars Birthday LSD Run.

The LSD run was composed of two distance categories, 16K and 20K and divided into 3 different pace groups. For 16K, the pace groups were 7mins/km, 8mins/km and 9mins/km; while for 20K, the pace groups were 8mins/km, 9mins/km and 10mins/km aka Sub_Mars pace.

I was one of the pacers for the pace group 8mins/km together with our lead pacers, Ma'am Peachy Tamayo, Jackie Gutierrez and co-back-up pacer Jessie Lucas.

The run was all around BGC area, our group ran the reversed type of the usual Runrio event routes with some side trips within BGC. And of course, the picture taking-documentation was always there :-)

Pacer's Meeting for Ms Mars PF Bday LSD Run

Last Monday, January 23, 2012, the first ever LSD pacer's meeting was held at the ROX Bonifacio High Street for the upcoming Birthday LSD Run of Ms Mars-our beloved PinoyFitness.com moderator on January 29th.

As one of the volunteer pacer, I was so eager to be at the meeting place. It will be my first time to do pacing duties and I am sure it will be a great run on Sunday.

The meeting started with a brief intro of Sir Jeff Lo, the admin of PinoyFitness.com and followed by a short lecture on Pacer 101 by Coach Carina otherwise known as the "Flying Boar". Then followed by the discussion of the LSD route.

And not to forget the picture taking galore, as all pacers who are present were taken a solo pic for posting in the Pinoy Fitness Facebook page :-)

Thanks Nike for the Cute Shoe USB!

The Nike We Run Manila was held last October 15, 2011, it was my first 10K night run. Though I struggled with the afternoon heat because the gun start was at PM, the run was all very well and great! There was also a post-race concert which everyone enjoyed though we were not able to stay that long to finish the concert.

The run was promised to have a post-race surprise, a Nike shoe inspired USB, but unluckily it was not distributed after race due to production constraints. And months passed and we all waited for it, at last the long, long wait was over when the said item was delivered yesterday :-)

Thank you Nike! The long wait was worthy enough! Til the next We Run Manila 2012!
